The island suits all, whether seeking exhilarating adventure, tempting beachside cuisine, or quiet solitude, where the hours melt away as you relax in perfect content. There are no motorized vehicles, all amenities are within easy reach, and your hardest decision will be to cycle, walk or take a horse drawn cart.

Lutwala Villa strives to provide modern comfort and first class accommodation. It’s location on the north of the island, surrounded by palm trees and beaches keep it a haven for peace and tranquility. A blend of western technologies and eastern cultures has created a villa of unique proportions, capturing the essence of Indonesia and the comfort of modern living.

The 20m pool, an extraordinary feature through the middle of the villa, provides for the serious swimmer or a leisurely paddle, offering both sun and shade. With side seating and water features you can spend all day in the pool.

Sun worshippers can while away the hours on comfortable poolside sun beds or on the private beach, listening to the waterfall in the pool and the waves lapping the beach.

Lutwala is perfectly situated to enjoy an incredible island sunset with cocktails and by night stroll along the beach to one of Trawangan’s fantastic restaurants, offering a surprisingly wide menu choice to be enjoyed in many locations under the stars.

What’s in a Name
The name Lutwala comes from an old regal African Acholi background and commemorates the memory of a very special person, Josephine Kipwola Lutwala. Born 04-05-1968 Died 25-08-2005.

Josephine had a dramatically troubled childhood which was exacerbated by her royal lineage and the political connections of her family, which culminated in her fleeing from Uganda, to the safety of England, at the tender age of 15. Whilst in England she was fostered into a family group who became her new family and dearest of friends.

Josephine dreamed of new places with all the joy, safety and serenity that Gili Trawangan possesses and long enjoyed the tales of this beautiful island. The island gave her a glimpse of the wonderful world that she believed existed, but sadly never had the chance to experience.

On the 25th August each year we celebrate Josephine’s all too short life by raising a glass, looking on to a remarkable beach as the sun sets and feeling blessed by an opportunity to be at one with the world.

The name Lutwala will live on in peace and harmony.

Bedrooms
Lutwala Villa has 3 double rooms, all with ensuite bathrooms boasting hot fresh water. The first is an elegant ocean view room allowing you to fold back the doors and let in the refreshing sea breeze whilst providing a wonderful view of the horizon. The other 2 rooms offer spacious floor areas, with extra bed facilities on request, pool views and folding glass doors. From any of the villa rooms guests can simply walk out the door and jump into the pool. Each room comes equipped with air conditioning, wall fans, mini fridge and spacious wardrobes and staff is on hand at all times to cater to your needs.

Services & Facilities
Continental breakfast is included in all room rates, drinks and nibbles are available and WIFI internet allows contact with the outside world (should you want it). Lutwala Villa has no restaurant, preferring peaceful living with the option to stroll to any of the many nearby establishments. The atmosphere is non hotel orientated and instead homely and relaxed. All rooms are serviced daily and fresh beach and room towels are provided.

Lutwala Villa offers unashamed comfort from the moment you arrive until the moment you reluctantly say goodbye.

Location
Situated in Indonesia on the northwest corner of the island of Lombok, lie the three Gili Islands, coral fringed atolls boasting white sandy beaches, sparkling turquoise waters, palm trees and spectacular sunrises and sunsets.

Gili Trawangan is the largest of the 3 Gili Islands and is an idyllic getaway with wide ranging cuisine, activities and tranquility. The island is accessible year round and each season has its attractions.

Lutwala Villa is located on the north beach of the island, a gentle stroll from the busy main island centre and perfectly situated for both sunrise and sunset. Some of the island’s best snorkeling is directly in front of the villa and with its own pool, beach and dive centre, guests have little need to leave.

2. High and peak season periods
   High/ Peak season period: July 1 - 31 - September 30, December 11 - January 5, Easter Week and Nyepi Day.
3. Villa Capacity
   Maximum occupation is 2 adult per room. Extra person will be at extra charge.
